Besides importing new users to your Azure AD, the EUM V6 User Import feature can also be used to add existing users to an existing EUM group, or multiple existing EUM groups. To perform this process, one would need Admin access to Azure AD so one can export the target users, as well as Admin access to EUM Resource Group in Azure Portal to run the User Import.
Pre-requisite
User Import must be set up. Please refer to the related FAQ article Setup User Imports
Steps to add users to Group using User Import
1. Download the target users from Azure AD
- Login to Azure AD and Import the target users to a csv file
- Select the users to be exported, and click Download
- Click Start to start the export
- Click "File is ready. Click here to download" link to download the .csv file
2. Fill up the User Import Excel in EUM Configuration Site
Once User Import is configured, please follow the below steps to Import Users
For EUM 6.0.8185.1 to 6.0.8460.2

For EUM 6.0.8185.1 to 6.0.8460.2
- Login to EUM Admin
- Click the "EUM Configuration Site" in the left hand menu to go to the EUM Configuration Site in SharePoint
- In the EUM Configuration Site click the "User Imports" under "User Manager"
- Click to open the User Import.xlsx
- Fill in the excel with the data downloaded from Azure AD
- Display Name (Required) from Azure AD goes to Display Name in the User Imports excel
- Surname (Required) from Azure AD goes to Last Name in the User Imports excel
- Given Name (Required) from Azure AD goes to First Name in the User Imports excel
- Mail (Required) from Azure AD goes to Email in the User Imports excel
- ID (Required) from Azure AD goes to Object ID in the User Imports excel
- In the User Imports excel the Status should always be "Ready for Import"
- In the User Imports excel put in the "Display Name" of the target EUM Group in the Groups column. If the users go to multiple groups, the Display Name of these groups should be put in comma separated
- The Group Display Name can be found by logging into the EUM Admin and going to the target group's page
- Put in any other values present from the downloaded excel to the User Imports excel so that the user does not loose any information upon successful run of the process
3. Run the "eum-admin-user-import" Logic App
- Login to EUM Admin
- Click "Azure AD" in the left hand menu
- Click "Resource Group" under "App Services"
- In the Resource Group lookout for "eum-admin-user-import" Logic App and click to open it
- Click "Run Trigger" to run the Logic App
- This will place these users to the specific groups.
For EUM 6.0.8531.1 and above
- Navigate to the EUM Config site. Please refer to the related FAQ Finding the EUM Config SharePoint site
- In the EUM Configuration Site click the "User and Group Import" under "User Manager"
- Click Import Files under User Import
- Click to open the User Import.xlsx
- Fill in the excel with the data downloaded from Azure AD
- Display Name (Required) from Azure AD goes to Display Name in the User Imports excel
- Surname (Required) from Azure AD goes to Last Name in the User Imports excel
- Given Name (Required) from Azure AD goes to First Name in the User Imports excel
- Mail (Required) from Azure AD goes to Email in the User Imports excel
- ID (Required) from Azure AD goes to Object ID in the User Imports excel
- In the User Imports excel the Status should always be "Ready for Import"
- In the User Imports excel put in the "Display Name" of the target EUM Group in the Groups column. If the users go to multiple groups, the Display Name of these groups should be put in comma separated
- The Group Display Name can be found by logging into the EUM Admin and going to the target group's page
- Put in any other values present from the downloaded excel to the User Imports excel so that the user does not loose any information upon successful run of the process
- Go back to the User Manager / User Imports page in EUM Config site and click Import
- This will redirect you to the EUM Admin and display a confirmation message
