Members of EUM Security Group after logging in, can visit the Group Members page, and have various experience upon the type of Members page is configured for the Group.
The three types of Member Page are:
- External
- Auto Generated URL
- Manual URL
In this article we will discuss about the External and Auto Generated URLs.
External
If the Member Page for a Group is configured for External URL, the users upon clicking the Group tile in the EUM portal, will be redirected to the External URL configured to this group. A typical example would be to configure a Group to have a SharePoint site landing page as the External URL. The Group, after being created (Create EUM Group in EUM V6 Admin) has to be configured to connect with a SharePoint site (Connect EUM Group to SharePoint Site) so that the users upon joining the Group get access to the SharePoint site.
- After the EUM Security Group is created Create EUM Group in EUM V6 Admin and in this case connected to SharePoint site Connect EUM Group to SharePoint Site, click to go to the Member Page tab within the Group Details page
- Within the Member Page tab, select External from the Member Page Generation dropdown
- Select the Member Page template.
- Select Group Member Page in this case
- Select Group Member Page in this case
- In the Member Page URL field put in the URL of the site/page where the Group Members should be redirected. In this case put in the URL of the page of the SharePoint site where the Members of the Group should be redirected to
- Type in contents in the Member Page Rollup field.
This will appear in the EUM Portal home page and will give users an idea about the group. - Click Save
Auto Generated URL
If the Member Page for a Group is configured for Auto Generated URL, the users upon clicking the Group tile in the EUM portal, will be taken to the Group Member Page within the EUM Portal. Please follow the below steps to configure this:
- After creation of EUM Group (Create EUM Group in EUM V6 Admin navigate to the Member Page tab within the Group Details page
- Within the Member Page tab, select Auto Generated URL from the Member Page Generation dropdown
- Select the Member Page template.
- Select Group Member Page if you want to put up your contents in a blank page
- Select Group Member Members Page if you want to have a side widget displaying members of the group
- Select from among the other templates if needed
- Type in contents in the Member Page Rollup field.
This will appear in the EUM Portal home page and will give users an idea about the group. - Type in contents in the Member Page Body field. When a user visits the Group, the contents of the Member Page Body field will be displayed to the user.
- Click Save
Note:
The Member Page Body field can contain Rich HTML contents. You can make use of the various buttons in the toolbar to do so. A few frequently used ones are highlighted here. Pease refer to Using the Editor in EUM for details on how to use the Editor.
